Setting at HTA

As a school we have taken the pledge to review our setting arrangements. We will continue to do this throughout the year.

At Holy Trinity Academy we regularly review our setting arrangements to ensure we best meet the needs of your child. Set reviews are built into the calendar at the end of each term, with the exception of year 7, who have a set review at October half term. Students are taught in a mixture of set and mixed ability teaching groups.

KS3 setting

The setting in Maths, Science and ICT is determined by Maths.

Students are set together for PE and Product Design.

For all other subjects the setting is determined by English.

English

Years 10 & 11 English sets are taught in mixed ability groups.

In year 9 there are six sets: two sets are for higher attainers (sets 9.6 and 9.5) and the other four sets (9.1, 9.2, 9.3 and 9.4) are mixed ability.

GCSE Science

Those students who have opted to study triple science will be placed in a separate group.

Students who travel on the A Star bus will also isolate until Tuesday 27th October

Students who travel on the Borland bus will isolate until 23rd October. They will be in school on 23rd October.
