Year 8 have celebrated the end of KS3 and prepared themselves for GCSE History by doing a ‘free choice’ homework on any topic of interest to them. Some students have developed their ideas from this into their own lessons.
Izaak Barraclough led a lesson on First World War weapons, which included a PowerPoint, a quiz, a clip from Blackadder and the chance to have a ‘hands on experience’ with a real First World War rifle. Izaak was supported in his lesson by his father Mr Barraclough who provided us with a wealth of interesting information.
Izaak showed us this amazing picture of his great uncle who died aged 19 at the Battle of the Somme.
