Settling in Evening Responses (November 2018)

Many thanks to all year 7 & 12 parents who responded to the settling in evening survey. We do value your feedback.

A summary of responses is detailed below.

94% of parents felt that their child had transferred well to HTA

94% of parents stated that their child is happy, well looked after and safe at this school

Something about SIMs parent online

96% of parents thought that their child is well taught at this school

98% of parents felt that the school ensures the pupils are well behaved

98% of parents said that the school deals effectively with bullying and racial abuse

96% of parents thought that the school is well led and managed

92% of parents said that the school responds well to any concerns that they raise and communicates effectively

96% of parents said that their child knows where to go if they have a problem

87% of parents felt that their child receives appropriate h/w for their age

Response: The amount of h/w set is regularly monitored. As all students will take different amounts of time to complete h/w it is difficult to analyse how much time is spent on h/w. Based on the analysis so far, year 7 students currently receive slightly less h/w than they should. We will continue to monitor the amount of h/w set.

Comments – some parents commented on access to computers. H/w club runs every night afterschool. All students have access to printing on site. This has now been extended to include break time.

UPDATE 22nd October:

All year 9 students should be in school unless they have been told directly to isolate.

All students in year 7 will be in self isolation until Tuesday 27th October.

Students who travel on the A Star bus will also isolate until Tuesday 27th October

Students who travel on the Borland bus will isolate until 23rd October. They will be in school on 23rd October.

Further details have been sent to affected students via Edulink.

Many thanks,
