North Telford Heritage Trail

North Telford Heritage Trail

The St Georges Community Group have been awarded a National Lottery grant for the North Telford Heritage Trail project, which will engage the local community in celebrating the area’s rich heritage.

The £10,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has enabled the project to create a 6 mile trail route, website and app, hold a series of community events, and provide training for a team of project volunteers. Part of that training will be provided to our sixth form in a series of events.

The idea for the route came from former Granville Colliery Miners, Malcolm Peel, Stewart Braddock and Cliff Hewitt who have visited HTA previously to talk to year 7 students about their own mining experiences at the Granville Colliery.

On Tuesday 10 October enthusiastic local historians, walkers and HTA sixth formers walked the 6 mile route.

Michael Clarke takes the lead.

UPDATE 22nd October:

All year 9 students should be in school unless they have been told directly to isolate.

Students who travel on the Borland bus will isolate until 23rd October. They will be in school on 23rd October.

Further details have been sent to affected students via Edulink.

Many thanks,
