Raising Awareness – World Homeless Day – 10th October

The ‘Mini-DASH’ is a (Catholic) Diocesan event that brings pupils together for a workshop from across the Shrewsbury Diocese. Pupils meet (albeit online at the moment) pray, reflect and participate in activities.  The latest workshop here at Holy Trinity Academy, led by Cath Duffy, the Catholic Diocesan Chaplaincy Coordinator and her team, explored the topic of homelessness in preparation for World Homeless Day on Sunday 10th October www.http://www.worldhomelessday.org/

The students, Mateusz, Nicholo, Anitta, Deshani and Isla discussed issues such as whether to give money directly to the homeless and how they could raise awareness about the plight of homeless people.  Activities included constructing their own ‘homeless shelter’ armed with limited materials and asking whether they could survive this way?
